There is a simple way to make your own mouth wash with ingredients that we all have at home!

We will need:

✔️500ml / 2 cups of distilled water.

✔️ 1 teaspoon salt

✔️2 teaspoons baking soda.

Salt

We use salt mainly because of its healing properties.  Salt promote healing, reduce inflammation and alkalize the mouth destroying the acid-forming bacteria that cause cavities. Finally, salt also helps in preserving the homemade mouthwash.

Baking Soda

Baking soda contributes to balancing oral pH. Baking soda has a pH around 9. It also helps to alkalize the mouth and protect from bacteria that cause cavities.

Drops of peppermint oil

Use peppermint essential oil to give your mouth a fresh and clean feeling with no alcohol addition needed.

It is recommended to use the mouthwash after brushing your teeth. Mouthwash can also be used as a gargle for a sore throat. It is not recommended to use the mouthwash in children under 6 years old.
